Apple Ambassador Program
The deadline for applications for the 2011 Apple Ambassador selection and scholarship program has passed. The application forms were available through the high school guidance offices or on-line at www.ncapplefestival.org.
The Apple Ambassador represents the North Carolina Apple Festival and the North Carolina Apple Growers Association. The ambassador program selects the recipients of the Evelyn Lutz Hill Memorial Scholarships. A $2,000.00 college scholarship is awarded to the ambassador and a $1,000.00 scholarship is awarded to the first runner up.
2011 Apple Ambassador
We are pleased to announce that this year's Apple Ambassador is Miranda Blake Stepp. Ms Stepp will be a senior at North Henderson High School this fall. Her parents are Marsha Stepp and Daniel Greer. She will represent the Apple Festival throughout the year including attending many events during the Festival Weekend. She will be award a $2,000 college scholarship.
The runner up this year is Sierra Hope Lyda. Ms. Lyda will be a senior at North Henderson High School this fall and will receive a $1,000 college scholarship. The other school representatives are Dana Jones and Alexis Newman of Hendersonville High School, Laura Hamilton and Alexis Taddei of West Henderson High School and Halee Green and Chelsie Hill of East Henderson High School.
